Career Connect

Planning your future is exciting, but there’s a lot to think about – and that’s where Career Connect advisers can help.

If you’ve left school and are exploring your career options, we can help you to understand what’s on offer, discover your strengths, and try out different opportunities.

We work on behalf of local councils. We offer a FREE service to eligible school leavers aged 16-18, who aren’t currently in education or employment, and who want to explore careers, education or training.  We’ll help you to find your future.

If you have an Education, Health Care Plan you can also work with us up to the age of 25.

We have teams across the Northwest:

  • Liverpool
  • Wirral
  • Halton
  • Sefton
  • Helens
  • Salford
  • Knowsley
  • Manchester

We’re completely impartial. So, while your adviser will help you to research and explore your options, you’re the one who makes the decisions.

Your adviser will spend time getting to know you, so they can connect you to options that suit you.  They know their local communities, so they can link you up with what’s going on where you live.

If you need support with anxiety or building up confidence, we can help with that, or link you up with one of our partners.

Once you know the direction you want to take, we’ll help you plan how to get there.

Your adviser can be with you every step of the way, from application to interviews, to ensuring you have any additional support you need.

And, once you’re on your new path, we’ll keep checking in to see if there’s anything we can help with.

It’s your future, your way and your Career Connect adviser will be cheering you on all the way.

India’s story

India started working with Career Connect when she wasn’t sure what college course to take. She is now studying childcare at College, and became one of our Youth Ambassadors, helping shape the services we offer to young people.

India says: “It was very enjoyable working with Career Connect. It helped me to see what my future was, put me on the right path, gave me confidence and it helped with stress. Ste [my adviser] told me, ‘It’s ok, you’ll be fine,’ – and he was right the whole time.”

India’s advice about working with Career Connect is: “Do it, because it does help. It helps with confidence, it helps you get into college and to find out which course would suit you, so I’d say just do it.”
