in targeted support for offenders in custody and community (including ‘through the gate’)

social investment programme - Unlocking Potential, who work with vulnerable young people

Education, Training and Work Mentor

Covering the area of Cheshire East with a main base in Crewe.
Building Better Opportunities multi-agency Big Lottery Fund / ESF funded programme, 'New Leaf' is an innovative project, targeting individuals furthest away from the labour market in the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area, to help them in their journey towards employment.

Led by Warrington-based Golden Gates Housing Trust, working in partnership with 30 other organisations, New Leaf will support 2,800 individuals over a three year period, providing a tailored service, giving individual support and direction.
The New Leaf mentor will hold a caseload of participants and work with these individuals to determine their learning or employment goals. The cohort of participants will be ex-offenders who wish to move away from offending into positive learning and employment. This involves working with partner organisations to refer participants to training and learning opportunities. The mentor will record these successful outcomes on a database. Some travel across Cheshire and Warrington may be required.

Adviser (Part time)

We are seeking to appoint a part time Adviser (17.5 hours per week) on a fixed term basis up to 31st March 2019.

The role is base based in Wythenshawe however, there will be an expectation to work across the Manchester area.

The role of Adviser is to provide impartial information, advice and guidance with the aim of broadening career horizons, supporting the personal development needs of individuals enabling them to make effective decisions and take positive action.

Advisers work with individuals who are in education, training, employment or unemployment.

The post holder will take a lead on Youth Justice therefore multi agency work is a must and the ability to impartially support those with complex barriers, whilst coaching and mentoring towards a positive outcome that will encourage sustained employment education or training.

We are looking for someone that can work individually or part of a broader team where innovation and thinking outside the box is part of everyday working.
