NCS Adviser (Prisons)

Location:Lancashire including HMP Preston and HMP Styal


Salary:Salary up to £22,452 per annum (depending on experience)

We are looking to recruit NCS Advisers working on the National Careers Service Custody contract across the following locations:

  • Lancashire including HMP Preston (Job Ref: HMPLANC17) closing date 27.01.2017

  • HMP Styal (Job Ref: HMPSTY) closing date 26.01.2017

The key focus of this important role is providing careers advice/guidance and the referral and placement of clients into learning and development that fit their needs. Also, to work with clients to broaden their career horizons, support their personal development needs to enable them to make effective decisions and take positive action and progress into education, employment, learning and training opportunities.

Potential applicants must hold a relevant qualification of at least level 3 e.g.

  • Career Information Advice and Guidance level 4 diploma

  • NVQ level 3 in Advice & Guidance

  • NVQ Level 4 in Advice & Guidance

  • NVQ Level 6 in Advice & Guidance
