Career Connect is a large vibrant and innovative Charity delivering advice and guidance
services across the Northwest.

Originally established as Greater Merseyside Connexions in 2001 and later became a Charity
(April 2011) forming as Career Connect.

Since our formation as a Charity in April 2011, the Charity has gone from strength to strength.
With a workforce of 400+ employees and a passion for helping others realise their potential,
we help adults and young people make informed choices to succeed in work, education and
training.

We have successfully delivered a wide range of contracts and have expanded our reach well
beyond the Liverpool City Region, with significant delivery across Manchester and the North
West.

We have a strong relationship with 200+ schools as their chosen IAG specialist and deliver the
National Careers Service providing universal careers guidance to adults across the Liverpool
City Region, Cheshire & Warrington and Lancashire, in community venues such as job centres
and in prisons, supporting offenders.

Achieve North West Connect are a wholly owned subsidiary of Career Connect and specialise
in targeted support for offenders in custody and community (including ‘through the gate’)
helping people to overcome barriers and make positive changes/ achieve goals.

We also cover several local authority areas, delivering NEET services and have a significant
social investment programme - Unlocking Potential, who work with vulnerable young people
aged 14-17 (up to 25 for young people with SEND) that are NEET/at risk of becoming NEET.

Coach - National Careers Service

We are looking for a candidate to join our National Careers Service team as a Coach, to deliver the National Careers Service contract to adults across the Liverpool City Region.

Coaches are responsible for providing face to face impartial information, advice and guidance.

Key elements of this role include the provision of advice and the referral and placement of adults into learning and employment and to work with adults to broaden their career horizons, support their personal development needs to enable them to make effective decision and take positive action and progress into employment, learning and training opportunities.

Applicants must hold a relevant academic/vocational qualification at minimum Level 4 e.g. Career Information Advice and Guidance level 4 diploma

Engagement Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Worker to join our Liverpool Team based at Norris Green Youth Centre.

You will be supporting young people 16-19 to access employment, education and training opportunities. Working with partners and in the local community, you will have a caseload of young people to follow up and engage. You will make referrals to other colleagues in the team who provide Coaching, Information, Careers Advice and Guidance support. If you have the enthusiasm and drive to make a difference to young people’s lives we want to hear from you.

As an Engagement Worker you will be expected to use innovative methods and approaches to engage those young people who have had a minimal contact with the service.

You’ll carry out telephone calls and attend home visits and will build respectful and trusting relationships with young people and their families who face difficulties/disadvantages through life, learning or work.

You’ll work closely with your peers and will have a network of others to support you, key partner agencies, training providers and voluntary organisations that you will signpost to.

For those wishing to apply, you must hold 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English. Level 3 Advice and Guidance is desirable but not essential.

Apprentice Engagement Worker - Wirral

Apprentice Engagement Worker. (NVQ Level 2 Customer Service)

Are you aged 16-24, Wirral Residents and NEET.

If so we are looking to recruit an Apprentrice to join our Wirral Team.

We are looking for someone who has interest in a customer facing role and willingness to undertake training. You will be earning a wage whilst you gain a NVQ Level 2 Customer Service qualification with a view to progressing onto an NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance.You will be joining a team of friendly staff who are making a huge difference to the lives of young people in the Wirral area, supporting them into Employment, Education and Training opportunities.

We will give you all the training and support you will need, so that you can:

  • gain experience of a busy working office

  • carry out visits in the Community with other members of the team

  • answer the telephone and take messages

  • help with follow up phone calls

  • input data to the computer system

  • use social media to promote our services

  • achieve a valuable qualification

  • progress with your own career

Our working week is 35 hours. Staff at Career Connect enjoy working flexi-time!

You will receive a generous apprenticeship starting salary of £10,738 per year, increasing to £11,485 after 6 months (when you complete your 6-month probationary period) and you will also receive 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

The position is fixed term for the duration of the qualification, in most cases lasting up to 12 months and we hope you will choose to stay with us and progress through to a higher-level role on a permanent basis.
